Gratitude Journal – Day 13: Self-Identity Journey

 Gratitude Journal – Day 13: Self-Identity Journey

Today, I am grateful for:

1. Ernest Hemingway
I read Indian Camp and incorporated it into my content. The story, where the boy experiences both birth and death in one night, is thought-provoking. The husband of the Native American woman must have been struggling deeply with depression, and the happiest moment he had led him to end his own life. I appreciate this type of reflective storytelling.

2. Good Health
The good health of those I love and my own health are invaluable. Recently, I’ve been having late dinners, which led to some minor acid reflux. I need to return to my habit of eating earlier in the evening.

3. My Furbabies
My furbabies bring me stability and inner peace.

4. Quiet Moments
Today, the sounds of firecrackers and fireworks have been much quieter. Maybe they heard my plea! Haha.

5. Viewers
I’m thankful for those who watch my content and find value in it. I chose Indian Camp for today’s post. Reflective stories haven’t performed well in the past, but I hope those who enjoy this type of storytelling will appreciate it. I also wonder if there’s anyone who has come to appreciate the story because of my video, even if they didn’t like it before.

6. Nap
I had a restful nap this late afternoon. I couldn’t sleep well last night—went to bed after 2 AM, only to be woken up by my dog at 4 AM for a bathroom break! Still, I love him so much!

7. Decision
I reset my blog.

8. Pushing Myself
I push myself to get things done, or else my mind fills with too many unnecessary thoughts.

9. Letting Go of Old Things
I let go of an old cushion and tore down an old bag, clearing up space and making room for a more efficient life.

10. Finding What I Like
I’ve often struggled with a poor sense of self-identity and find it difficult to answer simple questions about myself. I believe my gratitude journal will be a powerful tool in helping me discover and understand my true self.
